If you are starting a new construction project, the portable restroom rentals are probably the first thing you are going to order. So, why do you need these? Well, if you are managing a construction site, it’s your responsibility to keep your employees happy. If you fail in this, then you are going to transform them as poor performers at the job site. After all, you can’t expect them to deliver a good job if you can’t fulfill their needs. Now, let’s see all about the construction portable rentals here…
OSHA Requirements for Portable Restrooms on Construction Sites:
Before we move on to the other things, let’s see OSHA requirements for portable restrooms on your construction site. Accordingly, you need to have at least one restroom if there are 20 or fewer workers on your site. If there are more than 20 workers on your construction site, you must provide one toilet seat, as well as one urinal per 40 workers on the site. If there are 200 or more workers on your site, then you must provide one toilet seat, as well as one urinal per 50 workers.
While this is the requirement of OSHA for the portable restrooms on construction sites, you are recommended to provide at least one portable restroom for every ten workers on the site. This requirement is posted by the “Portable Sanitation Association International” in order to prevent overuse.
You must make sure that the portable restrooms are placed in a safer area, which is also easily accessible for the workers. This way, we recommend you to place the restrooms within ten-minute reach from their working area. In addition to this, you are also advised to keep the porta potties clean always. They should be cleaned and serviced at least once per week to ensure hygiene. We also recommend you to provide hand sanitizers or hand washing stations.
